Pre-Season Open House Weekend
Building on the interest generated in curling during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the VCC has decided to offer a Pre-Season Open House Weekend to kick-off the 2010-2011 season.
The club has received a lot of calls from people who want to learn more about the sport so September 11th and 12th will provide everyone with chance to learn more about the VCC, try the sport of curling and much more as we celebrate the final season in our current facility.
The Pre-Season Open House Weekend is intended for club members, friends, family and neighbours of members, plus any interested community member to come on down to the Vancouver Curling Club.
From 10am to 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday, all non-members who come to the club will have an opportunity to try curling, with qualified instructors. For only $10, participants will receive a 1/2-hour on the ice for a "basics of curling session" that will include simplified coaching on the delivery, safety and etiquette information, and a chance to throw rocks.
All participants who have a positive experience on the ice during the Open House will then be welcome to sign up for one of the three nights of Basic Skills Clinics that run from September 14-16.
No registration needed... just come on out to experience the roaring game at the Vancouver Curling Club!
