The Vancouver Curling Club had planned on hosting the 14th Annual Barry Naimark Charity Skins Bonspiel on March 25–28th, 2010. Barry was a member of the Vancouver Curling Club who became a World Curling Champion in 1964.

In early March, though, the club's board of directors made the difficult decision, after lengthy deliberation, to cancel this year's Barry Naimark Charity Skins. Current lack of interest in this year's event, as well as a change of date in a neighbouring club's spiel which now conflicts with our event, contributed strongly in this decision. The impact of the Vancouver 2010 Games, both on the club's schedule and the schedules of our members, may also be a factor in the limited interest received so far.

In an End-Of-Season Survey, we will canvas the membership on a variety of matters including the future of bonspiels here at the VCC .

The Barry Naimark Charity Skins Bonspiel is an opportunity for curlers to play the game they love, have fun with their friends and meet other members, and raise funds for charity as all monies raised by the event are donated to a charity pre-approved by our Board of Directors.

We look forward to bringing back the Barry Naimark Charity Skins in the 2010-2011 season!
