With the end of September upon us, it means that league play for the inaugural season in our new facility begins soon. September 25 is the first day of league play so the Club's staff and Board of Directors are looking forward to seeing the facility in full action and jointly welcoming VCC members (new and returning) to our new home.
The month of September has already seen hundreds of new curlers as well as VCC members walk through our doors and try the sport during our open houses and clinics. There is an excitement in the air as almost all of our leagues have expanded since last season (and some already have a wait list). We have a new menu, expanded draught taps, HD televisions, comfy couches, and floor-to-ceiling windows that make visiting the Last Draw Lounge before or after your game a must-do item.
After ten years of discussions, planning, construction and transition, the Vancouver Curling Club opens the doors to its new facility at Hillcrest Centre this weekend.
For the first time since the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, stones will once again be gliding across the ice in the building that saw Canada win three curling medals (two gold, one silver) at those Games.
