This past weekend saw the VCC host our annual fall classic, the Harvest Bonspiel. Featuring a sell-out of 32 teams representing clubs from across the Lower Mainland as well as some visitors from south of the border, the eventual champions were the Shamrockers from the VCC.
Featured above, the winning team is from the VCC and plays in the Shamrock, Motors and Thursday Open leagues. Team members (pictured left to right) include: Kris Wright, Selwyn Alexander, Brett Ballah, and Andrew Playfoot. Other event winners from the weekend-long 'spiel were as follows:
Andrew Gray, Harvey Meller, Jon Braun, Norm Scott
Christopher Ordog, Aaron Lindgren, Stephen Bailey, Logan Chinski
Earl Hill, Steve Nelson, Keith Budd, Shawn Joinson

Special thanks to the event organizers, led by Mark Robinson and Craig Coyne, as well as Kathy McInnes and all of the volunteers and staff who helped ensure everyone had a great time on and off the ice.
With the addition of Richard Kirby as our new Lounge Manager, Team VCC is primed for the season.
Richard arrived at the Vancouver Curling Club just in time to experience the fun and excitement of the Harvest Bonspiel. Richard served most recently as Food Services Manager for Woodlands Inn & Suites and Dining Room, as well as Corporate Suites Manager for the Calgary Flames. With his wealth of management experience: hotel, restaurant, catering, and commercial properties, he is keen to build on the possibilities here at the VCC and enhance members’ experience.
Join me in welcoming Richard to the VCC family.

VCC Interim General Manager
Welcome to Competition Corner, a new feature on our website in which we highlight achievements of VCC members in events outside of VCC bonspiels in the prior month. One of the goals of the Club's Board of Directors when planning for the move to the VCC's post-Olympic home was to support competitive curling with the hope that the VCC would once again become home to some of the best curlers in the Province.
Over the last four years we have had VCC members participate in, and win, regional, national and provincial events. At the VCC we believe it is important to celebrate not just the successes, but all our members' efforts. We established email@example.com this year so that members can let the Club know when they are playing outside the VCC.
