Welcome to the home page for the VCC Novice League!
This league is intended for new and beginning curlers with three or less years experience. The VCC's Novice League is known for the camaraderie amongst all of the participating players and teams as the goal is to ensure everyone has fun and improves throughout the entire season.
 
For the 2013-14 Season:  We are in the midst of wrapping up this year and planning our calendar for 2013-14.  The season will be structured very similar to the 2012-13, so please see below for details.  Registration for the league will open up on Monday, August 5 and be on a first-come, first-serve basis.  You can find out more information by contacting the Club via e-mail or by phone at 604.874.0122.  Thanks and we hope to see you join us for 2013-14!
 
The 2012-2013 Novice League will run from Monday, September 24 thru April 8. It will have 3 weeks of instruction, covering the basics of delivery, sweeping, strategy, rules and ettiquette. The third week will have an exhibition game, so everyone can get comfortable out on the ice. Following the instruction, the season will go for 18 weeks. Points are awarded for wins, losses and ties. A three-week playoff will wrap up the season to determine the League Champion, and its representative in the VCC Championships at the end of April!
 
**UPDATE March 20, 2013** - With round one of the playoffs behind us, everyone has now been set down in their brackets.  Have a look at the results below.  Following the March 25 draw we will see some teams knocked out.  Thank you to everyone who has participated through the season! It has been a great year.  Come out and cheer your friends on as they battle it out for Novice League surpremacy! Thanks and good curling!
 
**UPDATE March 12, 2013** - All our draws are now complete.  The final standings have been determined based on total points from the three draws.  Teams have been seeded and placed into the playoff tree according to their point totals.  Have a look at the playoff draw below.  Monday, April 1 there will be no curling and the finals will occur the following week, April 8 at 6:45 pm.  Good luck to everyone!
 
**UPDATE February 6, 2013** - The final draw is underway on our next week of curling, Feb. 18.  Results from draw 2 can be found below, along with the schedule for draw 3 and the playoff tree. March 11 will be the final day of the regular season and will be followed by a Pizza Party upstairs in the lounge! So don't miss out!  Teams will be reseeded based on TOTAL points of the season before entering the playoffs.  Good Luck to everyone in their playoff push.
 
**UPDATE Novemeber 28** - The new draw schedule has been posted below and will be populated following Dec. 3's results. Our last evening prior to Christmas break will be Dec. 17 at 9pm. Don't forget, Dec. 10 following the 6:45pm game there will be Pizza in the Last Draw Lounge to help us celebrate the holidays together! Be sure to come up and join everyone!
