Season-Ending Greetings from the Manager

To the VCC members, coaches and volunteers,

Thank you for a great 2009-10 curling season. The only drawback, though, is that it is now officially over.

Members, coaches and volunteers: if it was not for your cooperation this season I would not have been able to do my job and, for that, I am quite grateful. There were probably many days during the season where the last thing you needed was to see me approaching you with my gleaming look but, members, you all were always accommodating.

Congratulations to all of the members for making it through a unique season. It doesn’t matter what skill level you’re at, you all deserve credit for competing in this great sport. While we had to break up our season for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games, we can thank the Olympics and Paralympics for the exposure they provided to our sport and will hopefully help our club grow as we move into our new facility in just over a year from now.

It has been a great pleasure being welcomed into the family of the Vancouver Curling Club with its long history, diverse membership but, moreover, its willingness to accept, accommodate and flex at every corner this year.

Before I conclude this post, let me commend the great season the juniors had this year, and wish Team Faa and Team Inglis good luck at this weekend's Dominion Curling Club Championships of British Columbia.

I hope to see all of you in September. And thank you to all of the positive contributors to my first year at the Vancouver Curling Club.

Sincerely,
Chris Daw
VCC General Manager
