Strathcona Cup Success

Shouts of “hurry hard” – with a Scottish accent – were heard during the afternoon at the Vancouver Curling Club on January 11, 2013 as the Club was one of the stops of the Strathcona Cup 2013 tour.

More than 60 Scottish curlers are in Canada this month for curling matches against Canadians in curling clubs. The Strathcona Cup Tour is a tradition dating back to 1902 that sees curlers from Canada and Scotland compete every five years.

The Vancouver Curling Club stop – which included an afternoon game and evening banquet – was organized by a local committee chaired by Stan Turner. A big thank you to Stan and all of the other volunteers and staff involved in creating a memorable event!

A couple of different photo albums have been set up for the event so please click here and here to check some of the images from the Strathcona Cup tour visit. To find out more about the entire Strathcona Cup tour, visit strathconacuptour2013.co.uk.
