We're Ready to Rock
After ten years of discussions, planning, construction and transition, the Vancouver Curling Club opens the doors to its new facility at Hillcrest Centre this weekend.
For the first time since the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, stones will once again be gliding across the ice in the building that saw Canada win three curling medals (two gold, one silver) at those Games.
This weekend’s open house – on Sat. Sept. 10 and Sun. Sept 11 – will give everyone a chance to have a look and experience the new facility. Instruction sessions will be available (30-minute sessions at a cost of $10) for those who’ve never tried the sport.
Anyone visiting the Club during the open house sessions is encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and be sure to bring clean shoes. Kids, teens, adults and seniors are all welcome!
Public Open House Sessions:
Sat. Sept. 10, 2011 – 10 am to 6 pm
Sun. Sept. 11, 2011 – Noon to 5 pm
